Privacy Policy

We collect only what we need to run the game and keep your account secure. Depending on how you sign up and play, this includes:

• Account details — if you register with email and password, your email address and a one-way hash of your password (we never store your password in readable form). If you sign in with Twitch or Discord, we store the provider name and your provider account id instead.
• Security settings — if you enable two-factor authentication, the TOTP secret used to verify your one-time codes.
• Profile — your pseudo (handle), display name, avatar, and any optional personalization you add.
• Game activity — the teams you join, the bets and brackets you create or take part in, your votes and picks, and your scores.
• Notifications — if you turn on push notifications, your device push token and platform so we can deliver them.
• Support correspondence — the contents of messages you send us when you ask for help.

We process your information to:

• Create and secure your account, sign you in, and run the prediction game (teams, bets, brackets, picks, scores and leaderboards).
• Send the notifications you have asked for and the transactional emails the service needs (for example sign-up confirmation, password reset, or security alerts).
• Provide and verify an optional premium subscription.
• Respond to your support requests, prevent abuse, and keep the service reliable.

Where data-protection law (such as the GDPR) applies, we rely on the following legal bases: performance of our agreement with you, to provide the account and game you signed up for; your consent, for things you switch on yourself such as push notifications; and our legitimate interests, in keeping the service secure, preventing abuse, and improving reliability. You can withdraw a consent-based permission at any time in your device or app settings.

bet.ything does not show advertising and does not embed third-party advertising or analytics trackers that follow you across apps and sites. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. Points in the game have no cash value and are never linked to any advertising profile.

Premium is an optional subscription that is purchased and billed entirely through the Apple App Store or Google Play and managed using RevenueCat, which confirms your subscription status for us. All payment processing happens on the store; we never see or store your card number or other payment details. From the store and RevenueCat we receive only the information needed to know whether your subscription is active.

We rely on a small set of trusted providers who process data on our behalf, under contracts that require them to protect it and use it only to provide their service to us:

• Vercel — application and API hosting.
• Neon — managed PostgreSQL database hosting.
• Our email provider — delivery of transactional email.
• Apple and Google — subscription purchase and billing through their app stores.
• RevenueCat — verification of subscription status.

All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit over HTTPS. Passwords are stored only as one-way hashes, never in plain text, and you can add two-factor authentication for an extra layer of protection. We restrict access to personal data to what is needed to operate the service. No method of storage or transmission is ever perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information using reasonable technical and organisational measures.

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can export a copy of your data at any time from within the app. When you delete your account, we soft-delete it immediately and begin a 30-day grace period during which you can cancel the deletion and recover your account; after the grace period ends, your data is permanently purged from our active systems. Residual copies may persist in routine backups for a limited time before they expire.

bet.ything is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Our providers may store and process data in countries other than the one you live in. Where data is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as the providers’ standard contractual clauses) to protect it consistently with this Policy.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date above and, where the change is material, provide a more prominent notice. Your continued use of bet.ything after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
